Want to access YouTube Red, but it is not available in your country? It is possible, and you don’t need to buy a VPN subscription to go along with it.

Restricted access

YouTube Red is a paid streaming subscription service exclusively for YouTube in the United States, Australia, Mexico, New Zealand, and South Korea.

At this moment, YouTube Red subscription service is available only in a few selected countries. It is possible to watch the original content by paying for each video, but it gets expensive fast. Not to mention the other perks that YouTube Red gives you – ad-free playback being the most important.

There is a way

First of all, you will need to spoof your location in order to subscribe to YouTube Red. VPN is great for that purpose, so try one of the free add-ons for your browser. Hoxx VPN Proxy for Chrome and Hoxx VPN Proxy for Firefox is one I have tried and it does work quite well. You will also need a credit card, or a PayPal account in order to sign up, even if just for the free trial period. If you don’t want to get billed after the trial period ends, cancel the subscription right after signing up. You will still be able to use the service until the trial period is over. That is it. You can now turn off your VPN, you don’t need it anymore.

YouTube Red accessible outside US

Lifeline on YouTube Red

It seems only the process of subscribing to the service is region locked, the content itself is not. After the whole process, I was able to watch YouTube Red content, like the Lifeline series, on my Shield TV, without region spoofing.

That’s not all

As a bonus, you also get access to Google Play Music. Awesome! Happy watching, and listening!
